Virginians are feeling the pain of skyrocketing electric bills and the growing threat of blackouts, driven in large part by the Virginia Clean Economy Act’s rigid mandate that virtually all new energy production come from intermittent wind and solar sources while phasing out dispatchable power. Americans for Prosperity-Virginia is leading the fight in the 2025 General Assembly to reform this flawed law and embrace a true all-of-the-above energy future that includes natural gas, advanced nuclear fission, and the game-changing promise of fusion—options that are cleaner, more reliable, and far more affordable than the current top-down green experiment. By removing the Act’s punitive barriers on common-sense energy sources, we can lower costs for families and small businesses, keep the lights on 24/7, and make Virginia a national leader in energy abundance and independence.
